Red Hat’s NFV ecosystem expands with partnerships, customers and bottom-line benefits.

It’s often said that one of the strengths of open source technology is the community, or ecosystem, that shapes and advances it. We contend that’s Red Hat’s strength as well, and to illustrate, our ecosystem of partners is working with us to make the promise of network functions virtualization (NFV) real. To wit: our NFV ecosystem is loaded with network equipment providers, independent software vendors (ISVs), software-defined networking (SDN) providers and telcos, and momentum continues to grow.

Recap: Red Hat at Mobile World Congress 2017

Four days. As many as 100,000 attendees from 200 countries. And more than 2,200 exhibitors, including Red Hat. This is Mobile World Congress 2017. At the conference, which got its start in 1987 as GSM World Congress before the European telcos had even agreed on what 1G would look like, 5G was one of the hot topics. MWC 2017 attendees were also talking about plenty of other next-gen technologies, including the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), and more. A walk around the show floor and there was plenty to see and do: robots, a massive sculpture created by IBM’s Watson using AI, connected cars, VR experiences and much more.
